Each day begins and ends with twilight. I love painting the dawn or dusk as the drama of light shines brightly into my soul. On this particular beach visit, the waves crashing into the shoreline created a misted humid environment. While it was not raining I was covered with droplets of water. Capturing that light and moisture laden air in paint was going to be my challenge when I returned to my easel. As I painted this wild west coast twilight seascape (20×24 acrylic on canvas) I was thinking how nature’s rhythm infused me with its seemingly eternal aura. I too copy nature by establishing routines that repeat over and over. The repetition can give comfort and a sense of peace. Today is last day of 2016 and with the celebration ending one year and the beginning of the next I take time to reflect as well as plan. I am deeply pleased that thousands have chosen to follow me exercising my creative gift and I plan to continue expressing and sharing my artistry. My hope is that seeing my artwork will inspire others to see beyond looking, to experience the natural world as companion. I wish you a happy and prosperous 2017.
