At the age of seventeen I started my religious education at a residential Bible school in Alberta named Prairie Bible Institute. I was attracted to it by former students that I had met. I was impressed by their interest to live out their spirituality in their daily living. While learning primarily about Christianity my studies included all the world religions. It was interesting and challenging. One of the more memorable people was a Don Richardson who chose to live among people in Asia who had little outside influences. His books, Peace Child and Eternity in Their Hearts were great influences on my own spiritual development. In the middle of all the studies my artistic side found opportunity for expression. Every year the school hosted two annual musical dramatic presentations. The staging for these musicals included BIG murals 60 ft long and 15 tall. I was involved in the design and painting of 6 of these. An interesting adventure in disposable art. Each mural took over 200 hours to complete and were displayed for only a week or two, then recycled
